Home Remedies For Common Digestive Problems

A happy and healthy stomach keeps you efficient and focused. If you’re having digestive problems such as constipation, gas or just binged too much at that brunch with friends, here are some home remedies to get rid of your digestive problems once and for all.

1. Constipation

Even if you experience constipation regularly or infrequently here is one effective remedy for one of the most common digestive problems. Have a glass of hot milk with a teaspoon of clarified butter at bedtime or drink a glass of boiled water with one teaspoon of flax seeds. Flaxseed is a wonder food for digestion.

2.  Gas

Here’s a simple yet effective remedy for one of the most embarrassing and irritating digestive problems – abdominal gas. Consume a cup of water with a pinch of baking soda and lemon juice.

3. Nausea And Vomiting

Feeling the churn in the tummy and throwing it all out? Chew ½ teaspoon of celery seeds (a super food for digestion) and drink 1 cup of warm water.

4. Removal Of Intestinal Worms

Intestinal worms, one of the most harmful digestive problems, should not be taken lightly. Take a mixture of ¼ teaspoon of celery seeds and ½ teaspoon vidanga thrice a day after meals for 2 weeks.

5. Heat-Related Exhaustion

With the summer sun beating down upon you do not fall prey to sun stroke or exhaustion from dehydration. Consume a glass of coconut water or grape juice. Alternatively, you can churn out a juice of three dates, with eight ounces of water and drink it up.

6. Overeating

Overeating is one of the most common causes of digestive problems. Squeeze half a lemon in a cup of warm water and add a pinch of baking soda – drink it up. Or, roast fennel and coriander seeds – one teaspoon each – with a pinch of salt.

7. Lack Of Appetite

Does eating feel like a chore? All you need to know is how to increase metabolism. Chew a thin slice of fresh ginger (a super food for digestion)with a pinch of salt, 10 minutes before meals.

8. Diarrhoea And Abdominal Pain

For one of the most debilitating digestive problems, apply a little fresh ginger juice around the belly button.
