How To Make Kokum Sharbat:
  • Soak dry kokum in water.
  • Cook the soaked kokum with cardamom, roasted cumin powder, black salt, and regular salt. (sugar can be added optionally)
  • Add the water used to soak the kokum back in and bring it to a boil.
  • Strain the mixture after it cools for kokum concentrate that can be used to make sharbat.

How To Make Tulsi Tea:
  • Clean a handful of tulsi leaves and add them to water.
  • Let it simmer on medium heat for around 10 minutes.
  • Remove from heat and strain for fresh tulsi tea.
  • Optionally, add a dash of lime for a boost of flavour and vitamin C.

  • Steep dried tulsi in hot water for 5 to 6 minutes to prepare tea.

  • Dry roast 2 tsp cumin seeds and grind them to a powder.

  • Add 2 tsp dry mango powder (amchur), 2 tsp crushed black pepper, and black salt to taste.
  • Squeeze in the juice of ½ a lemon.
  • Add water and ice cubes to your preference for chilled jaljeera.
